Entry for August 8
For August:
I will be participating in a gallery show at the Gutman Gallery in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The show runs from August 11th through September 16th. I have one painting in the show, Angels Instead. This is an oil painting on wood panel. It is my homage to the Twin Towers, as well as cubism and modern art. It is a large work of 36″ x 48″. The predominant colors are blues and silvers, with an artist built silver wood frame. Incidentally, I build my own frames as much as possible.
For September:
I have been accepted to the Funky Ferndale Art Fair in Ferndale, Michigan! Taking place on September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, the fair is centered on Woodward Avenue and 9 Mile Road. Please visit this art fair! There will be 40+ artists, music, food, and lots of fun in Downtown Funky Ferndale!
I completed all entry requirements for the Fair, including SquareUp membership and request for card strip reader, as well as Fair insurance. I will be arriving at 7:00am to unload and set up the tent, display equipment, and of course, hang the artwork. I will be selling several 11 x 14 inch color prints of some popular works including the Aerodynamique sculpture.
For November/December:
I am also looking forward to a December show at the Plymouth Community Arts Center, in Plymouth, Michigan. The show runs for one month from November 4th through December 4th. I will be showing one painting, Circle I. This is another large painting done in acrylics. It is done on a round wood panel, 36″ in diameter. This work calls to mind psychedelic imagery from the 60’s and 70’s. It also touches on science fiction and comic book art themes.
